Our Approach to Childcare Cleaning

Classrooms and play areas

Children work and play at floor level and at low tables. Scopes prioritise the surfaces children use most, with tasks scheduled after hours so rooms are ready the next morning.

Frequently touched surfaces

Door handles, gate latches, light switches, rails and sign-in counters are listed individually in checklists so they are not overlooked.

Children's bathrooms and adult washrooms

Low basins, child-sized toilets and nappy change areas each have defined tasks, separate from staff and visitor washrooms.

Kitchens and eating areas

Kitchen cleaning is agreed carefully and coordinated with your centre's food safety procedures, so responsibilities between your cook and the cleaning team are clear.

Cleaning products and safe storage

Product use and storage are documented for your site. Products and equipment are stored securely and out of children's reach as agreed with centre management.

Access, security, privacy and safeguarding

Keys, alarm codes and sign-in requirements are documented before service begins. Cleaners follow your centre's security procedures and privacy and safeguarding expectations, including not photographing children's information or work.

Reporting maintenance issues

Broken fixtures, leaks or hazards noticed during cleaning are reported to your agreed contact.

Routine cleaning vs specialist disinfection

Routine cleaning removes dirt, dust and visible soiling. Disinfection is a separate process using specific products, contact times and methods. Routine cleaning alone does not prevent infections or guarantee regulatory compliance — your centre's own health, hygiene and outbreak procedures remain essential. If specialist services are needed, we will discuss them openly.
